You are absolutely correct. Not sure how long he would've lasted if you added him straight to the tank. Beautiful fish.

Yes and thank you!

That is one offended tang. ;Drowning ;Hilarious

YES he is! He also was a huge bully to my Gem tang at first. Now it's an occasional chase but that's it. :)

I use a critter keeper. Got it as Walmart for like $6 buck, use a dremel to cut some slits in the sides, added a suction from from home depot that was like $1 and it works great. Whole thing was was like $7/$8. And the top lid is nice as it provides an easy place where to feed.

Anyone else looking at the corals in revs tank and using the reflection in video one to see how his SPS is doing? Lol

Still waiting for the FTS.... I will say, looks like you're over the hump and doing pretty well!!

Cool boxes. Thanks for sharing.

I also am curious to know how long/how to tell it is no longer needed? I have a pretty dominant desjardini and would like to add a couple more Tangs in the future...

Rev, what I can see of your tank looks pretty amazing! Bring home any good fire from Reef-A-Palooza?

An Achilles and a powder-blue. That's a powder-keg, but it's a challenge I'm interested in taking. They're far and away my two favorite tangs, almost to the point where I wouldn't know how to choose one over the other. To that end, I've aquascaped my tank with a channel running front-to-back at a spot where I can slip a sheet of eggcrate in there for some long-term social acclimation. Hope it works better than it did with my striped parrotfish and orange-back wrasse . . .

@cromag08, that is an _awesome_ acclimation box, and big enough to allow that bruiser of a tang room to swim. Kudos!

@Cali9dub & @Fish Werx, they stay in until the aggression subsides. When the Achilles ignores the powderblue, it's time to release the powderblue. If the Achilles never does back down, it's time to think about rehoming a tang.

Wow, two Acanthurus (my ATF fish)! I have a Powder Blue in a 200g tank and a Powder Brown in a 120g tank. Love them both. Fast and nasty critters - I found my Powder Brown on the floor almost dry but still apparently breathing. It survived! I found some small Achilles at my LAX supplier last weekend (they had six 3-4") and was tempted. I decided to hold off, as I am not sure I could keep a Powder Blue together with an Achilles (even if it was small and the last added). Hoping yours get along over the long term.
