Following along with you on this project.
Nice progression this far.

What WYZE camera are you using in your home? I've been wanting to get one just so many options.
It’s the Wyze cam pan

Wow! What a project!!! Looks fun.
It’s been so hot I haven’t wanted to be out there the past couple weeks. I did score a used tank off of Facebook this last Saturday. It’s a drilled RR 120 with stand, canopy, and wet dry filter. All for $225 and no leaks!

It looks much better than the used 120 that I got for much more money. Nice find!

Made a trip to get some sheet rock. Just before getting home we got a few sprinkles. It quit and as I back into my driveway to unload it starts sprinkling again. I grab a tarp I had in the garage and cover the bed of my truck but the tarp was no good. It then starts pouring so I just back my truck into the garage and now just waiting it out so I can pull forward and unload.

On a good note, while at Lowe’s waiting for my wife and girls to go to the restroom there were a couple of cabinets discounted. One was marked as chipped and the other just had the box checked for damaged. We unpackaged them to see what the damage was and the one marked as being chipped was a tiny piece missing on the bottom left front corner (maybe 1” tall x 1/8” wide at the widest) the one checked as damaged we couldn’t find anything wrong with.

One was originally marked as $133 (chipped) discounted to $35. The smaller one was originally $97 marked down to $20. We picked them up for mounting in the building for storage.

Ok, full disclosure time! After hanging the Sheetrock on the flat ceiling section I realized this was not going to go well because I just don’t do good with this type of thing. An ex-employee/ friend (still working at same company just in a different capacity) called me and said his brother in law would be here and wanted to know if I wanted to hire him to finish hanging the Sheetrock, tape and mud, and texture the building. He does this for a living in Albuquerque. So I ask how much cuz I am feeling overwhelmed trying to figure out how I will ever get this done and it look decent. He quotes me a price and I counter with yes, but you buy tape, mud, and texture. I already had all the Sheetrock and screws.

How much do you think it would cost to hire someone to hang all but the flat ceiling then finish it out to texture? Building is 12X20

@dantimdad that last question was for you cuz I know you just did this work for your fish store.

I am still in the middle of it. I had a quote of over $5k just what we have done so far and there is more to do. I would say yours would be a grand
Guy quotes me $500 and he bought the rest of the stuff. Cheap stuff but still. It is way worth it! He made it look so dang easy last night hanging the drywall. What took several hours for me to do he had done in minutes. I was amazed. They’ll be back in the morning to go over the mud and then texture.

This guy had a friend of the family pass away here and was wanting to come for the funeral. He could come if I could hire him to do this while here otherwise was going to stay home looking for jobs. It was like perfect timing for both parties. Sad about the family friend though.

The wife and I have been planning for a while and today we broke ground for the move in of our 12’x20’ building. It’s a Derksen building with upgraded flooring. 2x6” joists 12” on center with 3/4” ply. It’s got the “Z” metal exterior upgrade (metal skin instead of the urethane coating). It has a 36” walk thru door and a 3’x3’ double pain window. Also has the electrical package installed. 100amp breaker panel, 2-4’ fluorescent fixtures, and 8 wall sockets.

This building will not only be a fish room but a room for the wife’s hobby as well (hydroponics).
I’ll get the concrete poured on Monday unless the weather stalls us. In this building I plan on keeping a QT, mixing station, mini fridge/freezer for beer and frozen food, and clownfish barracks to see if I can tinker with raising them. I have a 120 fish only DT in the house that is fully stocked and this is my expansion because “I want more”!!!

I am not much into coral but I do like some LPS and plan on having a small invert/coral QT and may tinker with a nano/pico reef as well. Options are endless until I run out of space.

Here are some picks of what is going on so far.
Piers are 2’x2’x2’ and there are 20 of them. 5 per 4x6” skid that will make the pier and beam foundation.

When this planning started I was thinking about doing a 300 gallon Rubbermaid shark pond. The foundation and upgraded floor are being built with this possibility in mind. Whatever the weight this building will be fine.

Here is a link to the build thread if my 120 DT if anyone is interested in checking it out.

Texture got finished the day after the tape and mud. Painted last night and again today. Spent some time putting outlet covers back on and breaker box door, then straightening things up and decluttering. Tomorrow a buddy from work is coming over to help instal the mini-split. Then for the flooring and trim. Almost there!!

Got power to the outdoor unit and got the mounting bracket hung on the inside for the air handler. Also got the hole drilled through the wall for the line set, power to the handler, and drain line to go through. Gotta do some calling around to find the best price for getting the lines vacuumed down to finish this install.

There really is an art to it. I hung drywall once in a garage, never again.

Everything is looking great!
