Got my mixing station moved from the garage out to the shed. Also got the wash tub put back in place and hooked up. Now if I can just get the dang p-trap to quit leaking. Got it all but stopped but it is frustrating me. Time for another beer and then maybe try again.

I decided the first tank to be set up in the fish room will be my old 29 gallon Marineland tank. I’ve got everything I need except some sand and biomedia. I’ll get some media and sand ordered and start working on the aquascape.

Equipment:
Ocean Revive Arctic T-247
Reef Octopus BH-50 skimmer
Eshoppes Nano refugium sump
Rio 1100 return pump
There’s more but it’s all stuff laying around from it was set up last before upgrading to my 120 Planet Aquarium in my living room.

I decided to put it on casters so it can be moved around the room easily if needed. Built the cart earlier today and screwed the stand to it so it can’t slide off.

Plans for this tank are:
Existing pair of clowns (Wyoming White female and Black phantom male)
Randall’s goby pair with pistol shrimp
Candy Basset (one of my dream fish)
Group of sexy shrimp
Several Pom Pom crabs
Rock anemones

How does that plan sound?

I need to find somewhere inside the house to keep my little Fluval EVO 5. It’s going to serve as my invert QT. I don’t plan on bringing any fish parasites into my fish room. All additions will be treated/fallowed in my home before entering the shed.

First tank in the fish room is full of water and circulating. I’ve got 2-100 watt heaters ordered and an ink bird controller ordered along with a new lid hinge and back strip to get the top as sealed up as possible. Just taking my time and playing around with it while I accumulate equipment to start the other 120 and 4-40 breeders. I bought live Fiji pink sand but after seeing the fine sediment in the bag I wasn’t putting it in the tank until rinsed.

Looks good, any new updates?
Yeah, I’ve been bad about updating regularly.
Here’s some stuff that I got going this week.
Finally got some creatures out in the building. Currently I have 3 tanks filled and 2 that have inhabitants.

Here is some of the stuff I added this week. Got a few things today as well that haven’t had pictures yet. I’m using the Fluval Evo 5 as a QT for some snails and crabs but once that’s done the little 5 gallon is going to be a rock nem and sexy shrimp DT tank. After fully stocked with inverts I may add 1 nano fish or 2.

Added a couple fish to the reef tank finally. First fish introduced to the fish room!
Wyoming White female
Black phantom male
I picked these clowns up as small juveniles in March of 2019 while on vacation in Dallas with the family.

Got the mantis shrimp tank cycling! Reverse flow under gravel filter and a Seachem Tidal 75 on a 20 gallon tank with 40 lbs. of rock rubble. Light is a $23 Aquaneat led light off of eBay.

What is the latest on your tanks? I just read your Australian tusk necropsy story. The fish, the truck, the time. Wow that sucks. I finally, 2 years later, have my 120 up and running. No fish yet but I have a snowflake in quarantine.

So, I’m getting some things rearranged out in the fish room. I bought 2 leopard tortoise hatchlings and am making room for them. Just Friday I sold the extra 120 gallon tank I had picked up but kept the stand and canopy to use in the build of my hatchling tortoise table. I’ve also started building an outdoor pen for them once they are large enough and can stay out when the weather is good.
The 120 in my house is doing good. Nearly all of the fish are 2 years or close to it except the 3 yellow tangs.
120 stocking from oldest to youngest:
Powder Blue- July 2018
Humu trigger-July 2018
Koran angel-July 2018
3 blennies-August 2018
Blue spot puffer-October 2018
3 yellow tangs-September 2019

30 gallon
clowns-March 2019

Mantis tank

In QT
Yellow tail damsel
Azure damsel
Starcki damsel
Lyretail anthias

Glad to see you are getting things going. Can’t wait to see it filled with fish!

Here is a video taken today of the fish room after some rearranging. Now to get some little storage bins to get things organized.
Don’t mind the background music. Alexa was playing music for me while I moved things around.

I had to copy the link from here to another window to get the video to play. But it played.

Wow! . That is a lot of tanks! Layout looks good for access. Are you planning on a tusk again? I was wanting a tusk but now I’m leaning more towards fairy wrasse.

I love all the plants combined with the tanks.
