Thoughts on bubble tip location

I’m still new to the hobby. Buddy of mine moved and had to downsize, giving me a a bunch of stuff which included a rock with a nem on it. Seems to be doing well, questioning the placement in my tank. It is right near a power head, I didn’t expect it to stretch vertically like it has, so it seems to be in a lot of turbulence, seems to be happy and hasn’t moved much in the approx 2 weeks I have had it. Just wondering if I need to do something or just let it move on it’s own.

I find that anemone's tend to move around if too much flow hitting them. Also, you may want to put a different cage on your power head if you can to make sure that the anemone doesn't get caught in it and nuke your tank.

They move on their own. Nothing you can do other than cover the powerheads

A bubble tip will move when it is not happy. They can move surprisingly quick too!
If you do notice it starting to roam around when it gets comfortable in your tank keep an eye on it so it doesn’t get too close to any powerheads

If they don’t like where they’re at they will move. Put a guard on your power head.

I know nothing about anemones (trying to learn). Would it really nuke a tank getting caught in a power head? But about death by other causes? I’d love to try a anemone someday, but not sure it’s worth the risk. My tank is primarily fish only now.

Same as above they will move where they want. I have been lucky and mine stayed put at the bottom front but you never know. One other thing if they do well they spilt a lot. Started with one now I have seven? Very hard to remove front tank so beware but also enjoy clowns love them!

It's definitely a possibility. But if you take precautions you should be good. They're wonderful animals.

I had one of mine ripped in half, lost almost all “tentacles” (yeah, none spared really) and it didn’t kill my tank, and eventually it healed.

They can also split in bad water conditions. I got lazy with my water changes and my tank got a bit dirty. Before I knew it I had 7 RBTAs stinging every coral they could find. They are a pain to find and remove, but I did sell 6 of them to the LFS at $40 store credit a piece. So there was a silver lining. The one I kept has about a 10" disk and hasn't split since I got my tank back in order.

The bubbletip will move and go where it wants to. You can try and place in a specific location but if it doesnt meet the needs for ANY REASON it will pack its bags and move.
