thoughts on reef casa aquariums?

I don’t use Ali express and wouldn’t know where to start but I can ask the LFS owner who figured it out and told me. He gets cheap clones shipped right from China.

Maybe they have an exclusive agreement now?Or maybe it’s just a rival talking smack. The reason I don’t care for Reef Casa is because I found out the owner of Fragbox owns it, and I have not been treated well by him and others have told me the same.

Either way, I doubt he cares. He’s reeling in the new hobbyists and there is more money and that then salty vets.

You can get very close to the reefcasa tanks on aliexpress, not the same dimensions but they cost the same as a reefcasa so I'm not sure I'd call them cheap clones.

Yeah. You can get Waterbox tanks directly from the Chinese manufacturer on AliE and Alibaba, but not the Reef Casa. Also, the dimensions of the Reef Casa tanks are the entire reason I want them!

Ive had my Flat10 for over a year now and have had zero issues with biofilm. I wonder why it's happening to others? It took me a while to get the flow right but everything is doing well now.

Is yours an "original" or one of the new "Mark II" tanks? I think the modification made to the "Mark II" would probably help the biofilm issue, but I haven't used one yet.

I think the iSeaLive rollers will fix any issues and make it a lot easier to stay on top of, though.

Yes the dimensions is the thing that drew me to them also.

On the original Reef Casa tanks you had to play with the flow and be religious about changing the floss filter pads 2x a week or the tank would build up an oily biofilm on the surface of the water. In the new "Mark II" tanks, they changed a lot about the overflow and back chambers which, I would hope, addressed the issue.

I run ALL all-in-one tanks. I have JBJ, IM and Reef Casa tanks. The ONLY ones with that issue are the (original) Reef Casa. As long as I change the floss every 3 days or so, it's no problem, but an automatic roller will make things WAY easier.

Looking into Reef Casa tanks and ran into this thread. Noticed you have a Mandarin in there. How has it been doing? Are you running something to keep a pod population alive or is it eating prepared foods? Also, the tank looks fantastic!

Fragbox Canada raves about them on YouTube. I plan to get one of their frag tanks eventually.
