I posted about these guys a few days ago. They've opened up and started coloring up, now I'm hoping for some definitive IDs on them. They are still not 100% settled, but I think they're starting to look distinct enough to identify.

That’s not kh sunburst, not even close

Any ideas then? Doesn't look like a Darth Maul or Adonis Maul. Those would be my first guesses.

Dayglow Volcano would be another similar polyp, depending on the lighting of the photos of the volcano you're looking at. But it's definitely not a Dayglow Volcano.

There's definitely an art to shooting zoanthids. It's super easy to get good photos of most coral, but so much of what makes zoanthids cool is in the fine details that demand a really good macro lens.

The fine details are one thing, but it looks like you have a weird colored filter on those pics. I dont know, maybe it's just me.

They look more washed out when I crop the photos, since I shoot pictures with my phone pointed down at the frag rack, I effectively have to zoom in 100%. Textures and colors end up smeary when I do that, I think a suitable lens may help preserve some more of the texture.

No filters on these photos, but I shoot raw with the lights around 15000k and adjust WB in Lightroom to match the LED color temperature. Works great for most true coral, doesn't work how I'd like for Zoa macro shots.

The icecap filter set for phones works really well, it’s what I use and it’s only $30. I highly recommend it for casual photo shoots and ID purposes, captures a lot of detail :). I think we’re gonna have to wait and see on a couple of these since they seem to be coloring up in your tank

My S7 + Snapseed gets me by. Might check out a filter set sometime though, seems way more convenient.

I've got the polyp lab set, but I don't think the colors look natural. Raw photos + lightroom get much closer to what my eyes see.

I'll try the icecap set one of these days.
