Here is an old photo of my 150G that I found right after re-aquascaping it from over a decade ago.

It had a 6" Deep Sand Bed, 120lbs of Tonga Live Rock and ceramic rock walls on the back

now thats an aquascape

They were cool. Perfect blue under natural light colors. Had them grown out to a large mat but a combination of a vacation a cold snap and someone opening the door so a stray cat could stay warm resulted in me leaving the hobby for 10+ years. My back up colony that was given to a fellow reefer fell behind his rocks and he didn’t care to save it since it “was ugly” (he ran all blue lights … I hate you Matt )

as far as I know only 3 rocks of these came into the country and all 3 died. If anyone happens to have a strain of this I would kill for a polyp or two.

Here’s a few pictures from about 4 or 5 years ago. 1st tank was my favorite one I had done but it sprung a leak after a few months. The second tank is what it turned into.

My last reef from 8-9 years ago. Jebao WP-25s and 40s were all the rage. Bare bottom was increasing in popularity. I remember having a Remora C HOB skimmer, but looks like I upgraded to an eshopps. That rock traveled across many FO tanks. There was a near 2ft bristle worm hiding in it by the time it made it into this 40b. Was absolutely terrifying. I ultimately let this tank go pretty badly. I took it down and didn't return to the hobby until this year.

This is my favorite tank of all my years of reefing.the first few pics I had to separate Hercules from the other seahorses to give birth took him 3 days in labor, then their it was thousands of tini tiny baby seahorses, enlarge pic and you can see them.he just kept releasing them. If I were a guy I would have given out cigars!! I was so excited!!!! The pic with 2 seahorses are dwarfs. Had to move them out to put my pregnant one in..The last pic are all my seahorses RIP my sweet seahorses I had bought 2 beautiful seahorses that had internal parasites and wiped out my entire tank.this was many years ago . We didn't quarentine back then. Stupid, stupid, stupid. .sad lesson learned I am still devastated to this day... I still miss all of them each one had their own personality I would love to have a seahorse tank again.i even thought about having an area I can block off all the other fish in my 180 to add some seahorses I have a video of the birth but it says the video is to big to transfer

Here is my first reef tank back in 2014. If I could only go back in time and tell myself then what I have learned.... I would have saved so much money and aggravation.

This is where my reefing dreams all began at Scott AFB. I was a poor A1C. When Heather(wife) and I where dating we would go to lfs and look at all the pretty fish and coral. Oct 2001
