Hey guys!
I just officially stocked my first saltwater fish ever (a not so yellow watchman goby) already paired with a tiger pistol shrimp.
Is the ID correct or they gave me the wrong species?

I expected it to be much smaller, but it's actually 4 or 5 cm. Is it an adult maybe?

Also, do I need a very deep sand bed or 5-10 cm are ok?

It's a YWG. They can get lighter/darker when stressed. Just let him settle in a bit and he'll yellow up. Mine did fine for a couple years in a 5 cm bed.

Full grown the YWG can get to 12 cm.

My sand bed is about that too or maybe a tiny deeper and my pistol shrimp is happy and digging all over. He will excavate all under the rocks so it’s not just down he digs. He makes himself a tunnel network under the rock work. It would be good not to have all flat rocks on their bottom so he can have space underneath.
