I would not assume that.

Also IF you have a species that emits dangerous levels of palytoxin and you're bent over your aquarium while irritating them, I would think you would be putting yourself at risk.

Tons of people have palys and zoas in their tanks and cases of palytoxin poison do seem rare. For me, it was just something I didn't want to worry about but I still do have those "Venus fly trap" palys in my tank. They spread but not nearly as invasively as the other ones and I find them more attractive. Someday I might get rid of them too, but for now, I just try not to mess with 'em :)

Thanks for your input in this venture. Looks like tomorrow night I will be cutting. I got an exacto hobby knife with a new blade. Hopefully, will be quick and easy :)

they will pull free from the rock if you grab them close to the rock. slow and steady and they will come off in groups. turn your pumps off so if one comes loose you can grab it or net it before it settles somewhere to start a new colony. just removed a bunch.

This worked well, I feel bad, but got rid of them all. No matter what it is, I feel bad killing.

Also too, you can put a line of Red Sea Aiptasia-X on them, will kill them off.

yea, I'm lucky on the "killing" part.
I met an intern at the office, that saw my tank pics on my computer screen, and we've become friends.
being an underpaid intern/college student he can't afford a lot so I donate my over growth to him and his friends.

JB water weld. knead it until well mixed roll it out into a sheet and cover whatever you dont want any more. Run carbon for a while.
