i've had a small handful of CUC's in my tank, which is a little over a year old now. In that mix, i had snails, and some blue and red hermits. The hermits pretty much ate all my snails. I've removed the last two crabs and placed them in the sump. that left me with a few snails including my bumble bees. i don't remember the names of the snails i have left but i am definitely needing more. i have an 80 gallon tank and the length is only 32" so I don't have a long tank, if that matters.
on my list to get are Nassarius, Cerith, some brittle stars, and possibly a small conch and a tuxedo urchin. DEFINITELY the snails if anything. Not doing crabs anymore.
i've never had an urchin before. only thing that concerns me is that i don't have much coraline algae. few small spots here and there, but not enough for them to eat. I do have sheets of dried sea weed that i read they'd eat. so there is that. are they slow eaters? will i need to remove the dried sea weed each morning to avoid any water parameter spikes in the tank?
i know conchs can get pretty large, there's not a small conch available is there?
as for the snail portion, not sure if im asking anything in particular. maybe if i could get your 2 cents on anything else i should consider.
