Hello all. New here and to the hobbie, started with freshies back last March and back in Nov decided to dive into salt tank. I had much to learn and thank goodness the internet had alot of information for me to find.

My tank is just a 55 gallon but being my 1st salt tank, I didn't want to go to big right away. I found that the start up cost is not cheap.
I started my tank cycle 4 weeks ago and my tank is currently going threw the nitrite to nitrate process. So shortly I'll be needing a clean up crew, any recommendations? And how much will I need.

Tank and stand used 100$
Powerheads x$85
Sunsun canister $50
Macro Aqua hob skimmer $90
Led lights $100
RODI $65
Substrate / Aragonite $50
Dry rock $120
Rest of the equipment roughly $200

My plans are to make a reef tank and will probably start with soft corals. As for fish, I'd like to have a diverse community of fish although idk how much my tank will beable to handle so I'll go about this nice and slow and watch my tank closely as to not overstock or stress out what I will already have.

Welcome to R2R! Nice looking start to your tank. I personally would cater your CUC to the tanks needs. As everything starts to settle in & stabilize you’ll get a better idea of what crew members & how many of them you’ll need. There’s no point in stocking a huge CUC if they’re only going to be fighting each other for food.
