My tank was pre-owned, and running since April 2010. I got it in Feb. 2011, and it was at that time rock with a couple of softies. I've added fish, inverts, a few more softies, and one LPS since then. And a few pieces of equipment like a dual reactor and a decent light. It's a work in progress.

Mine split up when the lights go off. And they sleep strange, too. In the corners, not in rocks.
Thanks for the comment. It's a work in progress, since I'm totally still a newb to the marine hobby. Way different than freshwater, but way better too!

Nice tank, I like the shape. The rock has some good potential...have you thought about stacking it using pillar/rod type structures?

Would that be like drilling through the rocks? I have to admit I'm severely handicapped in the DIY/mechanical things. I have no idea how to do most of it.

I'm worse, trust me. That said, drilling the rocks and doing structures is actually super easy. All you need is:

1. Drill
2. Rotary masonary drill bit (about $12 at home depot)
3. 1/2" acrylic rods, with or without bases attached - if you just use a big rock as a base, no need for an acrylic base.
4. "practice rocks"... junk rocks you don't mind wasting so you can practice drilling on.

We made videos at an old club meeting:

Sweet demo! I still don't trust myself not to break my rocks into pieces so would have to practice on the old lace rock and stuff that's lying around here but there's no harm in trying. It would be nice to go upward without adding even more rocks--there's a lot in there.
