Hello,

This anemone came attached on a zoa colony rock i picked up (luckily didn't dip!) And aas discovered just before acclimating. I was desperately looking for an RBTA or long tentacle anemone but not a single LFS had them here, hoping this would be something to keep/grow in my tank!

Its size is getting bigger and i do feed it from time to time. It did not move from the rock it came on and i guess it's just happy where it is, size is about 1.5-2inch in diameter.

I'm wondering if someone would identify it.

Thanks in advance.

Not to be a party pooper, but it could be a Mojano. They are related to and often look like small BTA. Mojano can be beautiful, but multiply very rapidly and will sting corals.

@Amoo @DeniseAndy @davocean @MSB123 @gig 'em any thoughts here?

And that's exactly why i needed to confirm. I have no idea what this might be and i can never trust our local fish stores as they barely have knowledge with SW..

The size and bubbled tips do look like a mojano to me, but the speckling looks to me like a BTA. I’ll put my money on a BTA, but it’s very hard to tell. One way is to just keep feeding it mysis and see if it grows larger. If all it does is split into another one then it may be time to start getting it out of the tank. Fingers crossed that it’s a BTA hitchhiker!
