Just a little tip. I was walking through my local lowes tonight and noticed in the glass/acrylic section a trash can full of acrylic/lexan sheets. I inquired about how much they would cost, stating I was looking for a small piece. The associate told me that he couldn’t sell it. Scored a ~4”x24” piece of 1/4” acrylic for no charge. Not sure what I’ll use it for, maybe some DIY frag racks or something. Just figured I’d pass along the tip. I’ve had luck in the past getting small scrap pieces for a couple dollars that were “damaged” out by the Lowe’s employees and marked down, but tonight’s find was even better. Your mileage may very of course, but doesn’t hurt to ask.

We used to have a plastics company here that would sell scrap by the pound. Some of the pieces were pretty big but the customer paid for a whole sheet and they wouldn't resell it to someone else except as scrap.
