I have a purple spot goby and a Gold Headed sleeper goby. Both sift through the sand and make it look pristine!
I've asked many folks about this, everyone seems to have the same complaint; they get sand everywhere, all over corals and you have to constantly use a turkey baster or something to clear it. Thoughts?
Mix the sand yourself
Cheers i read about silicate so bought some filter media to take any out of the water so will see if this helps.its the ugly phase. Be patient. Its actually a complex biological process as organisms compete and use up available minerals and nutrints. Do what your doing, don't over feed. It looks like you started with live rock. IMO that'll shorten the ugly phase a bit for you. MB7, bio spira, dr tims will actually help a bit as the biofilter matures. It really does get better but takes time.
This is true. The gold headed is a dick when it come to this. They have a tendency to grab a mouthful of sand and go to the center of the tank and let it fly. The purple spot sits to herself on the bottom and keeps the sand on the bottom.
Ok yea I was thinking that too.LOL am I the only one thinking that OPs sand looks darn good?
If its RO not RODI I believe some can slip by the filters.Cheers i read about silicate so bought some filter media to take any out of the water so will see if this helps.
