So I'm planning a 60 build now that life has gotten a little more predictable. Admittedly it's going to be my most expensive build with some splurging on bells and whistles (finally). Will include a ceiling hung Led, DIY sump, ato, nice little rimless thing BUT...I would like to know if anyone has any home grown inventions, rigs, tricks, failsafes, precautionary methods. Anything from the material you put under your glass to cheap hardware store contraptions that have really turned out well. Siphon methods, crucial tools you couldn't do it without that you don't necessarily buy on marinedepot.com.
I won't be going hardcore with the controllers and basement setups and dosers, yet I'm trying to convince the wifey and make sure this is a seamless addition to the home. What great stuff can I plan to pick up and prepare to have according to the reefing community?
