For those the run the TLF KW Reactor 300 how do you have them set up? I used to run Kalk in my top off water when I had a small 20 AIO. I have been able to upgrade my tank to a WB 150. Running kalk in the ATO was not a great solution as my tank has matured. I have been running all for reef, but I am struggling to get my pH where I want it to run. I have always had good luck with Kalk in the past. I am running the Npetune ATK pump setup for my ATO now. One issue is that the KW 300 says it needs a 200-300 gpm pump. The ATK is around 100 gpm. Do I need to get a bigger pump? If not, with the small tubing that the ATK uses how have people connected this pump to the KW 300. I do have an Axis 40 that is sitting in my storage bin, but I was hoping to use that for another project.

Update:
I emailed Two Little Fishies shortly after I posted here to see what they said. Julian responded to me today and explained that the intent is not to run this through the ATO pump as the evaporation amount will change seasonally. He did recommend, and designed this around, using a pump like the Sicce Syncra 1.5. The intent is to run it out of the ATO reservoir and set it on a timer to dose Kalk. This would also be adding make-up water, which in turn should cause the ATO pump to run less frequently. The ATO should also be off of a level sensor so that it does not overdose. I will get this set up this week and let anyone that is interested know how it turns out. I do have a Trident on my system, so it should not be too hard to tune this in.

How’d it go?
It worked much better. Use the recommended pumpo size and set it on a timer. I use a Kasa wifi timer to turn it on for one minute incriments. It is helpful to have a Ph sensor on your tank. I did have it stick on one. With the small amount of kalk in it, the tank survived with limited support. I ended up setting two off timers. I essentailly had it turn on at 11:00 and then off at 11:01 and off again at 11:02.

Thanks for the info. I want to boost pH but kalkwasser to me is only attractive with a kalk reactor. Those are typically expensive (excluding the TLF one) and it’s hard to justify. I’m considering the TLF reactor with the recommended pump and WiFi control as you have, or sodium hydroxide used with a normal doser. I’ll give the sodium hydroxide a try this week. It’s somewhat hazardous, so maybe TLF is a better choice. I have a Neptune apex for pH monitoring but it’s back with the manufacturer for now getting worked on.
