Just switched from NoPox to TM Elmi-NP. Primarily because TM is more concentrated and was burning thru NoPox. NoPox did bring my NO3 down but PO4 not so much. For PO4 I was using Rowaphos which I stopped using once I switched to TM elmi-NP. Its been a month since the switch and I will be at my max dosage which I believe is 2.5mls for a 125g tank. Does anyone dose or found themselves having to dose greater than the recommended max dosage?

Anybody? So everyone has been able to drop no3 and po4 with the max dosage or less? Cant bring my no3 below 15.0 and my no4 is 0.30 and will increase the second I don't run rowaphos.

I have been using elimi np for well over 2 years. I dose well over the recommended dosage for my small tank daily without any negative downside. It is more expensive since it only comes in smaller sizes than NP Bacto Balance. The reason I prefer not to use NP Bacto balance mainly because it has some trace elements in the product. I cannot add higher amounts of carbon source using NP Bacto Balance without increasing the trace elements too much as well.

NP Bacto Balance has phosphate and nitrate in it. I dose ElimiNP 2mls /day/100g. My experience is that although I use all possible export methods and quite a lot of carbon (2ml ElimiNP/100g dosed once a day:confused:), I seem to have reached the limit of carbon dosing where my PO4 is around 0.2 ppm and NO3 10-15 ppm.

Any problems dosing more than the max recommended amount @Lou Ekus , @Hans-Werner
Many of our customers use more than the recommended dose of these products without any ill effects. The recommended dosage is set where it is due to possible increased oxygen consumption. That being said, we are extremely conservative with our recommendations. And that is evidenced by the users that are over dosing the recommendations and seeing no ill effects.

@Lou Ekus is there a bigger quantity version of elimni np than the 200ml? I really am looking for just a version of carbon source without any other additives such as Nitrogen, phosphate, or trace elements. I can manually add those myself.

I don't believe the amount of traces in NP balance and Elimi NP are enough to consider us as adding trace elements. I think I read somewhere that its mainly added to help the formulas somehow. I could be wrong but I believe it was Hans that answered a similar question a fellow reefer had in regards to NP Bacto containing K+. He said to still dose the K+ as what's in the Bacto balance isn't enough.

I was just asking as I cant get No3 and Po4 under 20 respectively. Id like them to both be under 10. Once im there I can switch to NP Bacto. I would love to have your numbers. Right now Po4 is higher than No3.

Thank you! It always feels better when you hear it from the horses mouth! Keep on making great products for us. I felt cheated using NoPox... it just smelled like pure vinegar. Like they just bought a .99 bottle of vinegar and poured it into a NoPox bottle.

Phosphate is consumed much less than NO3 using any type of carbon dosing. You need to start with GFO (slow but high capacity). Mind you that you have much more phosphate than registers because the rocks adsorb phosphate.

As of right now, the 200ml size is the largest for the ELIMI NP. Maybe we will have a larger one for you in the future.
