I am also planning to switch my C-Skim skimmer to the Tunze I won during the Partner Member Raffle. Maybe this will also emit less heat.

Lol idk
Think you’re return pump is made by sicce

If you’re in northern hemisphere with tank hi temps this time of year, and you don’t crank ac in summer 24/7 like I do, you might as well submit now to a chiller.
For me chiller would be my last option. Expensive, noisy, blows hot air into room.

I’m in Maryland. It gets cold in winter but wife likes the heat on, which makes my water evaporate faster and my tank to run a little warm. I guess I will see what happens when I change out the return pump and the skimmer. If that does not work, I may just get a chiller.

I just don’t want noisy one.

I’ve never used a chiller and I have gone the fan route before and although if work it did double evaporation. My 180 sometimes gets as high as 81 but I refuse to chill for many of the reasons mentioned above.

I have an Artica chiller. I have mixed feelings. It works, but it is noisy.

I also had to get the controller module replaced. JBJ sent it quickly, but it was less than 4 months old when the chiller failed. I lost some coral in the heat spike.

I also added a fan to my sump. That has significantly reduced the number of times the chiller switches on during the day. The extra evaporation has been no big deal.

Wonder if I can get and outside fan unit and run the refrigerant through the wall like an AC uses
