So I really haven't messed with the Logbook part of my GHL. Not sure if I really need it. I honestly have no idea what it can do for me. I track some stuff on an Excel spreadsheet as is.

Sell me on this feature and what it can do for me please.

Logbooks are great when you intend to make a LOT of changes slowly.

Noting failures, coral or fish behaviours, and being able to compare them to the charts to determine cause or effect actually means a great deal to some people.

Also helps when determining if the equipment is properly calibrated or if consumption is increasing, in the case of dosing.

If you're already keeping a spreadsheet, you're doing the same work as a logbook, tbh, so the feature is 'slightly less useful'

If you like to keep track of what you do with your tank (tests, reminders, event notes, track changes in parameters), the logbook is for you.

Logbooks help me track maintenance on my tank, I use to use Excel worksheet but now with the logbook I set up the activity and I get the notification that this is due.

Things I am using it for:

T5 bulb Changes

Maintenance on my Return Pump (Annual Cleaning)

Maintenance on my Skimmer (Annual Cleaning)

Maintenance on my Power heads (Quarterly)

CO2 Scrubber Replenishment

RODI Filter Replacements

Replacement tubing for my KH

Replacement tubing for my Doser

I also use it to document any ICP, or water test results.

Anything I may have done to change the overall parameters of the tank.

For Example, when I started to use an Oxidizer, (Now I track the Peroxide replenishment).

I used to use excel, word, and notepad, now I just do it all within the logbook.

I was just wondering if the internal log book could be set up to automatically record readings and make them exportable in a .CSV file. So I could import into Excel.

A couple of questions on the logbook.

Is the logbook stored on the device, and is it part of the backup from GCC? Wondering since the logbook is not on GCC.

Is there a way to get notifications from logbook reminders, other than actually opening the logbook?

Follow-up: In the very unlikely event that your controller fails, can the logbook be transferred or downloaded in a usable format?

Just a question (as I haven't read the manuals).

Do the KH Director and upcoming ION director automatically log the test results into the log book, along with any associated changes in dosing to correct dosing rates, etc.

Also, curious if the probe measurements will be added to logbook in the future. (pH, salinity, temp, redox)
