Hello all! I recently got a biocube 32 and made a rockscape with flat base rock at the bottom and used marco cement to keep the rock formation I built on top together/secure. My main question is whether or not I should use egg crate below the scape anyways just as a precaution or for any other reason. Any advice is welcome!

I agree with prdubois I used an egg crate back when I was adding rock to my tank, now I'm regretting it XD. You lose about 1 cm of substrate, which became a problem down the line. My tank isn't the biggest either (24"x24"x 24) so I opted for a 1-inch sandbed which isn't ideal for some marine fish or invertebrate that like to bury themselves.

If your worried about scratching the bottom of the tank why not try a 100% silicone mat? BRS.tv suggested it in one of their videos. It would take up minimal space and I believe I'ts reef-safe.
