Toadstool leather coral polyp not opening

Hey reefers. I got my toadstool leather and I’ve had it for a couple months. It opens up and it’s not shriveled up but it has a couple polyp that pop out but not fully out would love the help it looked beautiful when I got it from the lfs it was fully open with long polyps

Mine does that occasionally then will be alright seems to grow a little each time

I know it’s fine because it’s not shriveled up and some polyp are out but is there something I can do to get the polyp to fully come out? It’s a long polyp toadstool

Mine looks almost like that but with just a bit more polys out. Been 6mths no change. But its not dying either.

Like zoas it doesn't hurt to blow it off weekly like most other corals. Their shedding schedule can be eratic especially if new or if WQ has changed.

Water flow is key. No you don’t want to aim it at them but have it go over them. The coral has a thin film that hardens without flow preventing polyps from extending. If you take a turkey baster and shoot small bursts of water, you will see a different response from polyps and separation of that film confirming flow issue
Also add iodine and strontium to tank occasionally which they require

Long as you dont see spots on your leather like this you are ok.
