Hi everyone, this is a photo of my toadstool that’s been acting kinda strange lately. He’s got this weird blotchy pattern on his head after the lights turn off and I’m not sure if it’s a sign of anything. I have two toadstools in my tank and the other one is doing awesome but this one hasn’t had its polyps out for like 3 weeks. This coral would often shed every week but now he’s just pretty much closed all the time. He also is growing some brown algae on his stalk but it’s strange because it’s seems like he’s got good flow. Could it be from too much light (even though I have t touched the lighting schedule)? All the other corals besides this one are doing fabulous. Just looking for some insight. Thanks!

Soft corals.
I have and NPS in my sump that goes through its stages and I can't figure out why?

It just areas where the waxy coating is uneven with regard to thickness or shedding. Sacrophyton often require more flow, I would either move the piece to an area of higher flow or add more flow.

Make sure it has good flow, it needs good flow. Its very adaptable to almost any lighting, but IMO I find they do like higher light.
