This toadstool hasn't been extending in a few weeks. I just noticed the red areas on the stem that look irritated. Can anyone ID the issue? Thanks!

Usually an iodine bath/dip will help with these type of infections, if it's possible.

You can also keep the infected area clean by softly blowing on the spot with a pipette/turkey baster. Just be careful not to blast the area too much.

If the infection gets too bad and pieces of flesh are falling off, you could consider fragging the 'crown' of the toadstool and attempting to save it that way.
