Toadstool turning white?

My toadstool is turning white… what’s going on??

Could be splitting. Could be detritus settled on that spot and wasnt removed and caused the section to become necrotic or something does or salt was allowed to settle on it before being dissolved.

So what does it do? Is it just like making a new head?
Usually it just pinches off that section and drops it. So that top piece will eventually drop off and you got a new toadstool. You could also just cut it off with a razor blade if your impatient.
