Toadstool

So I recently picked up a toadstool and when I saw it in the store it almost looked like a weeping willow which if you’ve seen jake’s weeping willow that’s a true weeping willow but anyways this isn’t as long of polyps but they’re pretty long I didn’t take a pic of it in store but I brought it home acclimated it and put it in my rock work at the top near flow but it looks like the polyps are stiff and not fully extended? Do they take time to fully extend their polyps?

Any coral will take time to open up their polyps, the amount of time depends on how different or similar your tank is compared to where it came from. Pictures always help, but toadstool generally likes a good amount of flow, I think flow is the most important thing for them. They can acclimate to different lighting intensities but I find they do better under higher lighting. Leathers will open up in my tank usually within a day.

Give it a day or two and it will open back up! It’s still acclimating to your tank

Weeping Willow toadstools are just regular toadstools that exhibit longer polyps. I have a giant ten year old toadstool that looks like a Weeping Willow some days and a normal one on other days. Same when I frag it some frags exhibit longer polyps than others but at the end of the day they are from the same mother. Give it time.
