Too dark for monti?

The area right behind the tang I want to mount a 4x2 piece of monti cap, is it too dark? It has a ledge that comes over it a couple of inches.

Directly behind the tank? Too dark. Up above the tank, possibly.

yeah had a big ammonia spike they haven't been happy since usually all the polyps are out

Maybe just break a small piece off and place it where your thinking of and see how it responds in a months time.
