Reef tanks have been my life ever since I was 16 years old, but I took a 10year break from the hobby. As you can see I’m ready to dive back in. Everything that comes with this hobby evolves extremely fast… my question is, what in your opinion are the best lights to go on an 8ft long x 24in wide tank? Skimmer? Powerheads? Back in the old days VHO’s then MH where the top dogs LOL. Thanks in advance!

IMHO it will all depend on your budget and what typenof tank do you want to build.
Mix reef, sps dominant, fowlr, softies.... what do you havenin mind?

Ok so you going to want some decent lighting and flow to begin with.
Lighting: radions, kesil, orphek are some good options.
Flow: ecotechs vortechs, Maxspec gyres...
Those are some of the high-end brands from the top of my head....you can achieve just about the same result with cheaper brands, just do your homework.
Also do research on Neptune apex, Hydros systems. They are quite helpful when set up properly and in good working conditions.
