There’s a lot of acros here that I looked up and don’t really see what the hype is all about besides being a classic.
The purple monster is pretty high up on this thread. I looked it up and I wasn’t too impressed.
I think nostalgia has a pretty big impact on some of the acros mentioned on this thread.
Don’t hate me.

I love the red dragon Acro, grows well and looks cool
I totally agree I’ve always had at least one colony if not two since it was released. I remember when people used to consider them hard to keep I always found them to be hardy (except to Alk swings) and fast growing like you mentioned. I like fragile ornate acro’s they definitely stand out. The one problem with red dragons it’s a common experience once they get large something always makes them rtn. Currently dragonless I failed to keep it well groomed and make another back up frag.:rolleyes:

This is picture of my first one I ever had back in the day next a classic Hawkins and Paletta pink tip under xm 10k / VHO’s lol.

I would say the pm is dear to most people because it grows so freaking slow and there has not really been another coral like it since it came out which is rare in itself. The growth form does it for me, stunning growth, but I haven’t had the patience to watch it grow so never picked one up.

I understand your point of view. However I will say my Merlin Staff Route 66, ORA Hawkins, red dragon, and snipers milli stands up to any of the new hot corals. I will say that home wrecker does deserve the hype. Pretty incredible!

They are primarily A. Tenuis and are pretty fast growers depending on the piece.

Because the purple monster is a very slow grower makes it one of the best acros ever? That doesn’t make any sense to me.
When I think of a great acro I would think of something that is a fast grower, nice to look at, readily available, hardy, and reasonably priced. A prime example of this is the
