Torch coral growth identification

Does anyone know what this is growing on the torch body? It's hard to the touch so don't think it is a sponge.

Looks like a Vermetid snail. When you feed the tank, do you see a long "fishing line" coming out of it?
If so, the easiest way to deal with it is to fill the tube with superglue.

I will check it tonight and see if it does.
