Torch coral help

My sand sifting goby burried my torch coral in sand. I unburied it but a new head that was growing lost its tentacles and died. Will the head heal and grow back or is it dead forever? The rest of the the torch looks great.

How long was it buried? Also a pic might help.

It was for a couple days as I was out of town

I've had some corals which looked worse come "back from the dead" ; patience and maybe a little luck are required.

Ok sounds good. I figured as long as the rest of the torch was healthy and getting nutrients it was better off.
