Hey all! Looking for some advice. I recently purchased this gold torch coral about six days ago and can’t seem why the tentacles haven’t expanded yet. It’s been like this for all six days. Drip acclimated for 1 hour. Added

iodine for thirty minutes. Performed a second iodine dip on day 2 seeing that the coral still remained in this condition.

Ammonia and Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 5-10ppm
Ph 8.0
Phos 0
Calcium 400ppm
Alkalinity 8
Temp 78-79
Salinity 1.026

All of my other corals seem perfectly fine except for this one. I’m curious if it’s in shock?!?!

Thanks I’m really concerned with it. I recently moved it to where my other torch corals are located. Hoping this helps

Some torch corals can be super picky. Just wait and see if it acclimates, it might take while. I agree with Mjrenz, if it starts bleaching or receding then I'd he worried but until then just wait for it to acclimate

I’m unsure if there’s pests on it. The coral was initially placed on the sand bed. After noticing that it didn’t open up for a few days I decided to move it to where my other torches are located. Using a Red Sea Reefer 250 with LED lights

I purchased two online and should be delivered tuesday. I’m excited but nervous eat the same time. Reading to many horror stories, I didn’t realize they are so finicky
