I am new so please go easy on me LOL. I bought this torch coral about a week ago and in the store the tentacles were much longer and I don't remember seeing so much of the base. So my question is do you think everything is okay with this torch? Is it still just getting used to my tank? Do you have any suggestions or should I just let it be. Thank in advance.

It looks pretty good right now and may not be fully adjusted yet. Things to consider are your parameters, tank inhabitants, flow, and light.

How much flow is it getting? To much flow to mine and it recedes in and not enough it recedes in . All mine are about mid ways up in the tank in moderate flow and they stretch way out. Also what are you parameters? What type of Lighting? Those both play big roles as well.

I have the BioCube 32 LED and I am just running those lights and I would say the flow is somewhat moderate at this time.... I don't really understand all of the terms because to me the flow seems to be about the same in all areas of my tank LOL except maybe at the very top.

As mentioned above, flow and lighting play a contributing factor as to why the tentacles might be more retracted then when you bought it. I have seen where they come out more with the correct ample lighting and then at night or dim lighting they retract a good 1"-2". Definitely check your water parameters.

More than likely directly below the powerhead will be the lowest flow. Is there a powerhead in the tank or just the return right now? If you dont have a powerhead i would get one.

There is the return in the upper left of the tank and I added the Jabeo wavemker pp4 i believe..its in the top right corner pointing down. I will let it be for a few more days and then adjust the flow to see if I can get more extension. I have been adding things and moving stuff around so hopefully a few days of settling down will help. Today all of my corals look the best yet. My candy cane is puffing up the most I have seen....and my mushrooms are huge. I am loving it.
