Torch flow?

Hi all got a new torch and was told to put them in a relatively low flow area. It seemed unhappy when it had very low flow so i moved it to here.. does this flow look okay?

Also have a hammer in a similar flow area that's not doing too great..

Still looks to low compared to mine. That movement is ok if you have periods of higher flow mixed in also but not constantly like that.

That flow is more suited to hammers or frogspawn

Torch flow is tricky. Constant flow is definitely not good - i have about 6 different torches in 2 tanks (180 g and 200g) and have had to fine tune placement carefully. Hammer and Frogspawn are similar but not as picky. Too much flow = bad. Too little = not great. Pulsating medium flow seems to be optimal.

That flow looks fine to me. See how the torch reacts over the next two weeks. Only move it sooner if it looks bad, quickly.

I think euphyllia is really adaptable to flow... I see a lot of torches at my LFS that are just getting blasted with flow and they are completely open and look great... Then I put them in my own tank with low flow and they get ticked off for a bit and then adapt eventually...

I can’t see the video, but IME torches like medium to medium high flow, the tentacles should be in constant movement, you don’t want direct flow though, it should be somewhat random. Fragbox has a video about flow for torches that is pretty spot on.
