Torch not opening after being knocked

So one of my Halloween hermits knocked the torch off its rock & onto the sand. Must've only been there half an hour or so, this was 3 days ago. Its hardly opened up since, this is the most its got to.

Any ideas why? I thought it would go back to normal after a few hours.

Is it possible there's still some debris in there irritating it?

I give it a good shake before glueing it back down.

Annoying as it has just started to adapt to the light & was out all day
