i have had this torch for about a year and just lately I can see the mouth of the coral on one side and the tentacles have swelled up, it has medium flow and light, tank is 3 years old and all parameters are stable, could it be splitting or something a bit more serious

Can’t see any skeleton at all
down below the tentacles? Its all flesh? I would guess that flow might be directed in a way its pushing the tentacles away from the mouth. They like indirect random flow of medium intensity. The flow should make the tentacles sway or whip around in a slow motion dance.

There is no flow directed at the coral, both wave makers are at either end slightly pointing at the surface, I would say the flow around the coral is not heavy and the tentacles are swaying, but for some reason one of his mouths is open and the tentacles are quite swollen, there have been no changes to my tank in months, hope it isn’t dying

My guess is it is getting ready to split, mine often gets a bubble where the mouth is before and during a split. Either way I wouldn’t do anything drastic at this point, just keep an eye on it.

dang the one head has split away now with exposed skeleton, it actually looks like a rip, strangely the tentacles are still out and swaying around, any ideas as to save it or it or will I eventually get bail out

I think it’s a goner, it’s just a matter of time unless it can heal itself
