I have a predominant SPS system with alot of flow.I also want to keep LPS.i have a frogspawn that does great but whenever i add a torch it loses a head or two or dies altogether.is it the flow that is causing this???again i wonder because the frogspawn does so well right next to them.

That is odd for sure
Are you slowly acclimation it to light to be at that same level?

I find my torch likes slightly less flow then my frog spawn does. I would place it on the bottom and put a rock before the torch on the flow side. So the water is modified and will flow up and over the torch and not under. So it doesn't get direct high flow but more random slower flow. The high flow can shear off the tissue if it is to high. Or find a nook with lower flow and place it in it.
