Torn between Royal Gramma or Midas Blenny

Want to add a rockwork dweller as I don’t have one currently and really like both these fish. Fishing for some insights to help me decide. I’d prefer the more active one of the two to get to see him swimming more, but also want to know everyone’s personal experience with the fish and overall satisfaction.

He will enter the tank with a yellow watchman/pistol and blue sapphire damsel and joining two existing clowns if that makes any difference.

I have both of these. They’re both great fishes, but my Midas Blenny has a great personality. I think they’re more fun to watch. My Royal Gramma tends to hide in places I can’t see. For beauty go for the Royal Gramma. For personality, definitely the Blenny.

I have both as well. The royal is very timid but has great color and personality. The midas is a bully at times but overall a great fish.

I have had both of these. Lost my Gramma in a tank upgrade and have the Blenny now. As stated above the Blenny has the personality. It is a very peaceful fish. The Gramma was a bit of a bully from time to time. Maybe not so much of a bully but protected his territory. Depending on your setup you might be able to do both. Depends on if they are all interested in the same space. If you have a large enough setup they may all have room to find their own space.

I have a royal gramma and a tailspot blenny. Only see the gramma dart out for food, otherwise I would forget he's in the tank. The blenny is not shy at all. Sits on rockwork in the open, hovers in open areas and isn't bothered at all by large fish... Tangs, Trigger, Wrasse.

My gramma is out front and center all the time. Never hides and is peaceful with the other fish.

My Midas blenny was very aggressive and rude. Would bite at the other fish, grab and shake them sometimes.

Your mileage will vary on the individual fish you buy and their personalities.

My tailspot, also the smallest member of the tank. Will out compete when i feed the tank! The wrasse flashes at it and he just swims right up to him and ive watchrd grab food from his mouth! Peaceful as can be, but tailspot DGAF
