Translucent Deresa Mouth

Hello,
My wife and I just got back in town and I noticed that the tissue around my Deresa's "mouths" is bleached/translucent. Has anyone ever seen this/ know what could be causing it? I've had the clam for about 3 months now and it has been doing well otherwise.

Bumping this. My first thought is not enough light and a slow decline becoming apparent. .How long were you gone and what was being fed to the tank? Have you tested the ammoina and nutrints?

Thanks for responding! We were gone for just a little over a week. I had a friend come by and feed for me while I was away. I feed a mixture of various frozen foods (LRS, etc). My friend did have to reposition the clam because my pistol shrimp decided to rearrange things. I just checked my parameters. My dKh and pH are a little low. They are as follows:
pH: 7.8-8.0
dKh: 7
Nitrates: 10
Ca:580
Phosphates, ammonia, and nitrites are all 0.

I am going to slowly work on bringing my alkalinity and pH up. I can also reposition him, he is currently on the sand bed.

Im not a huge expert, but if the systems are stable they should be pretty tolerant of slow ups and downs.
do you know PAR in the tank? or what light are you using. Settings and heith over tank w depth of tank.

I'm guessing it was from being moved, was it on its side? If so it's because it wasn't getting proper light.

Sorry for the delay in replying! It's been crazy at work. Yes, I believe that it is the lighting. I moved him up a little bit last week and he seems to be happier. I may try to gradually move him up, so he doesn't bleach from too much light. Unfortunately, I do not have a PAR meter (my wife will only let me spend so much! ;)), so I don't know what the PAR value for where he is. The tank is a Innovative Marine Nuvo 40 gallon. It's 19" tall and I have about 2" of sand and he was on a piece of rock covered with sand (~16" from the top of the aquarium). The light is an 85 W Led fixture (a Chinese one I got from a LFS that used them with good success about 6 years ago). When I placed him in the aquarium, he initially attached with his filaments, but then he detached and has never re-attached.

Good Luck with him I just had to comment That's one of the big flaws in wife's they only want you to spend so much.
