Transparent eggcrate for lid?

I'm planning my 25 gallon reef tank, and plan on keeping some gobies, which are known jumpers, because of that I wanted a lid, a mesh lid preferably because of better air flow, but my tank has curved edges (like a biocube), which makes it quite difficult to make a mesh lid with conventional diy kits. I then came across this acrylic material similar to eggcrate but transparent. Would that work well as a lid without reducing light output like normal eggcrate would? If not, does someone know how to diy a mesh lid for a tank with curved edges? (It's worth notting that I don't live in The States, so hobbyists who sell lids are out of my reach)

It will work as a light diffuser to some degree, (that is what those are for actually) but it will allow some light to pass through. Do you know how much light (PAR) you are getting now? What kind of reef animals are you trying to keep?
It should be sightly better than other egg crate material.

I'll prodably be getting the VIPARSPECTRA Timer Control 165W (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UMXAR5S/ref=ox_sc_act_title_17?smid=A1BSXM5KIS5MZE&psc=1), it apparently has a very good PAR. For now I don't plan on keeping anything harder than euphylia, so softies and some LPS, and a bubble tip anemone.

Believe it or not if you have fish smaller than those holes they can and will get out. I lost two fish using the normal egg crate material from Home Depot in a temporary tank. I was shocked they were able to get out.

Each hole is a square of o,4 by 0,4 inches (1cmx1cm), do you think something like a firefish or watchman goby could pass through?

Again, fish smaller than hole CAN get out. I know it seems impossible but trust me, they can.

Definitely! I lost 2 Diamond Gobies to jumping through egg crate tops while the fish were in quarantine. I didn't think either fish could have fit through the holes due to their size but somehow they did it!

Do you know a tutorial on how to make one for a bioucbe? because my tank has rounded edges, which makes it really hard to use conventional mesh lid kits

Since you were asking about egg crate I assume you are able to cut it to fit. If so just glue some mesh on top of it. You could even cut out the majority of the middle section of the egg crate and let it be mesh only.
