Is it okay to use plastic components (buckets, wave makers, thermometers, etc. that have previously been used in or with water that had copper in it as long as they are rinsed really well?

That would be a yes. They are likely to not retain copper versus items such as rocks and other structures

That’s not an issue with amine-chelated copper products like coppersafe or copper power, just rinse them well in tap water.

For ionic copper, that’s a bit more reactive and binds with more materials, as well as any calcium coating that might have built up on the item being rinsed. For these, soaking in white vinegar and then rinsing well would be a better option.
