My dad was given a broken trident for free by a coworker because she is getting out of the hobby and knows our family has a couple of reef tanks with apexes. It was giving me a ton of errors and the $75 repair kit did not solve them, so I opted for the $200 advanced replacement program. I just recieved the refurbished replacement trident yesterday. It's having connectivity issues, but no red error light. The light has been green/teal when first plugged in, and then it goes solid blue and never turns orange. It has not turned red once.
Setting up the new Trident went smoothly, and it did display the first two test results. Sometime between scheduled test 2 and test 3, the Trident stopped showing results in Fusion.
This morning, I went to investigate and discovered that the Trident is listed as a missing module on fusion.
It had been connected with an aquabus and power supply, but I removed those and tried the onelink from my Dos on the trident instead. It still did not show up.
I removed the onelink and tried a different aquabus cable and aquabus port on the EB and the Trident, and that did not work. I also tried plugging the aquabus into the apex to see if that solved the issue, and it did not.
I deleted the module and tried going through the initial setup again, and it still showed up on the list with a green check next to "firmware" but an orange exclaimstion mark next to "attached".
I have restarted the apex multiple times, and I have verified that the aquabus cables, power supply, and one link cable works properly on my MXM module and Dos pump. I also contacted support.
Also, it is running the tests and initializing just fine. It just is not showing up on apex local or apex fusion. It is quite annoying.
Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a known solution to this problem that I missed somewhere?
This has been unreasonably frustrating. I guess I probably just need to wait another three weeks for another replacement trident to come for the second time.
