Secondly - if there is a way to connect the Trident to Apex without 1-link - why wouldn't that option be available to US customers?

Google "neptune systems 1link" and you'll get what you're looking for.

right - but that didn't answer my question - why do overseas customers get a different connection than in the US - ie - why do I have to buy yet another product that may or may not fail.?

And btw - the reason I asked - is because it has lots of links to different products - none of which have any relation to the trident. SO. I was asking the experts here. As I said when I asked the question - I don't want to read through 1000 google results (and the first 3 using your search criteria did not help unfortunately) I want to know from an expert here what it is. Sorry you couldnt answer - except I think you could have answered - but were unwilling

You don't HAVE to buy any of this.
So - you are saying - if I bought a trident - (I have an apex 2016) I wouldnt have to buy anything else. ok thats fine. The question was - why was it mentioned - is a cable not included - or something else? Just asking not arguing

1link is a proprietary method of connecting peripherals to the Apex systems. It provides power and data in one connection. As to if it will be the only way to connect the Trident to your Apex, I have no idea.

The US Apex 2016 and Apex EL both come with 3 1Link ports, on the EB832 energy bar. So it makes sense for the Trident shipped to US customers to come with a 1Link cable, rather than an Aquabus cable and power brick.

Unfortunately the European Apex doesn't come with the EB832 or 1Link ports, so the Tridents shipped to Europe would need the power supply and aquabus cables.

If you're an American customer and would still rather not use 1Link, you can hook the Trident up with an (optional) power supply and aquabus instead.
Just as you can with the DOS. :)

Thanks but lets pretend that I - an American customer - don't want to buy a 1 link- why not provide the other option with the unit (at least when ordering - ie with or without). I know the answer already.

You do have the option to use an aquabus cable and a separate power supply, both of which will be available to purchase, in the US or overseas.

Apex 2016 or ApexEL are still required either way.

I believe the Trident will plug directly into the 1 link port on the EB 832. If I’m not mistaken it has 3 ports

Just manually tested my tank, as usual hated every second of it. Can’t wait for this to come out

I'm done waiting.
