Hi everyone,

My Trident NP started showing the “No Water Sample” error a few weeks ago. After checking the intake line (which was clear), I opened the casing and found that pinch valves #4 and #5 were broken. The other three look fine, but I’m unsure whether they might also fail.

Has anyone else had issues with broken pinch valves on the NP?
Any feedback or experiences would really help.

Thanks!

That has happened to me. I opened a ticket and sent it back for maintenance and paid whatever. I got a refurb anyway since it my Apex did not identify the Trident when it came back.

Mine were not as bad as yours but water (assuming reagent) got into one of mine and rusted the shaft. I was able to save it by sanding off the rust then polishing it but I'd probably be due for new solenoids soon. I think yours would be a full replacement.

You can get them yourself with a google search. Neptune will not sell them and want you to service the trident instead which should refresh all the internals.

This should be covered under warranty, either they’re defective or the software pushed them too hard. I’ve opened a ticket to see what they say.

If it’s going to cost me half the price of the machine, I’ll look for the replacement myself. It doesn’t look very expensive. What does normally cost to Service a Trident?

$100-200 if not covered by warranty. Should be free (aside from the shipping cost you'll incur sending it for RMA) if covered by warranty.

Add yourself to the Neptune FB group and the admins are also the customer service reps too. They'll work with you on getting the repair going.

Looks like a pretty common issue, even with the regular Trident that uses the same valves. The valve is the BS-0838V-05 (24V version).

I opened a support case to see if it’s still under warranty, but I also ordered two replacements. There’s a thread with a lot of people reporting the same problem.
