Hi guys,

My female BT trigger, just ate my newly introduced YW goby. Could I prevent this from happening next time
If I introduce the goby with an isolation box? BT trigger is very friendly to other smaller resident fish

Acclimation/isolation boxes can help for sure. Also, adding after dark or lowering it into the tank on the sand towards the rockwork is probably a better option as well - less chance of triggering a "predator/prey" response from the trigger.

Thanks for the advice. The goby was allready in for an hour and during feeding the trigger went for it. Spat it out later but by then it was killed.

In addition to an acclimation box I like to release new additions after lights out so most tank residents are in their hiding spots. Im not sure jow well fish van see in the dark so I make sure and have some ambient light so the new addition can see to navigate the tank.

Now I see tbrown already mentioned this 😊
