I am considering getting a Reefmat 500 but currently have a refugium in the 1st chamber of my triton 34 sump. I assume that to install the Reefmat I would have to remove the refugium?

In the first chamber I have filter socks and refugium
2nd Chamber I have skimmer and media refractor with bio pellets in (and pump for this)
3rd Chamber I have return pump and this is where my ATK goes into.

If your refugium has been setup for quite some time it would seem to be far more beneficial than switching to a roller.
Frankly the roller will strip nutrients something fierce. Unless your like me and are overstocked to high heaven. I can't grow cheato, caulpera or sea lettuce between a oversized skimmer & a filter roller.
