Does anyone know if there are mini triggers or a species that looks like it?

Depends on what you mean by mini. Blue throats reportedly top out around 8-9 inches although I have not seen one bigger than 6 inch. That is about as mini as triggers get not including any ultra rare mega dollar species. Trigger like would be a file fish.

They have similar shape to triggers, commonly smaller and considerably less aggressive. Problem with them but most are difficult to keep in captivity.

what is that called

Just thought I would add a little bit of clarification, since you seem to be asking about smaller fish. What @tkiry1 has is a whitespotted filefish (Cantherhines macrocerus), which is one of the larger species having a reported size of 10-15in. There is also the whitespotted pygmy filefish (Rudarius ercodes) which is much more manageable at 3in. The radial filefish that @lion king linked to is another of the smaller species. And as @jdl513 said the blue throats seems to be the smallest and one of the more peaceful triggers. Good luck with your search :).

I've had a blue jaw and a sargassum and they are both quite passive. Had them a year or 2 and they haven't gotten much bigger than 4 inch yet although they have a massive appetite.

The sargassum ate a royal gramma in qt. Well half of it anyway. I think he was just really hungry because i didn't feed him that day. But i haven't seen any aggression from him since and he is housed with much smaller fish.
