Trochus snail turning fluorescent orange???

I noticed this after a water change. Parameters are normal, fish are behaving normally. Had a dead Nassarius earlier which prompted the water change but nothing else out of the ordinary.

I'm sure this isn't normal but it is an indicator of something terrible?

That's the dying cry of coralline algae that grew on that snail. Maybe the snail exposed the algae to air. Or you did with the water change.

They pick up algae, coraline and even an aptasia or other anemone. That is with all marine snails
