Trouble opening Sicce UV-clarifier

I had a Sicce UV clarifier in my tank for about 6 mo. When I took it out, I couldn't open the lid. Has anyone else had this problem? I have been in touch with Sicce. I sent a video of me trying to open it. They made suggestions, soaked it in citric acid for hours, and still can't open it. They told me to send it back, but the address was for the UK. It would have cost $400 from the US to ship it, so I gave up on that. Has anyone else had this problem? It should be the simplest thing; I'm a good problem solver, but this one has me feeling like an idiot. If you have had the problem and have a solution, please let me know.

What specific model is this UV?

I’m unfamiliar with Sicce’s UV sterilizers, but may be able to find you an exploded diagram/explain it!

Without seeing exactly what part you are trying to get off its tough to help. Sorry I'm not familiar with unit you have. I'm picturing a tube with a spin on lid and the first thing that comes to mind is an oil filter wrench or strap wrench and maybe even two, one to hold the cylinder and one to turn the cap. I'm just going from the image in my head so I may be way off track.

Thanks. Sure enough, as I was taking a video to post, I got it open. There is definately something funky about the lid but thanks for asking for those.
