Hi there,

I've been having trouble with my trachyphyllia and want to know if it can recover/if there's anything I can do. Part of it fell into a rock flower anemone a couple of days ago (probably was knocked in there by my spider conch) and that head now has a gaping mouth and tissue coming off the coral skeleton. Is there any way to save it at this point? Can the other head survive? Should I have the dying head removed with a saw at my LFS? The starfish is now on top of the coral as well but it might be removing rotting infected tissue so not sure whether I should take it off.

Thanks for the help!

It doesn't look bad except for that corner, IMO leaving corals alone is usually my policy. It seems a bit unsecure in that spot and it may fall over again, so I would find a more suitable location for it.

Agreed, I'd let it be and it should recover. Corals are amazing animals. I'd probably set it on the sand bed so it doesn't fall. Thats a beautiful trachy
